Duke of Cais (Portuguese: Duque de Cais) is the title held by the heir apparent to the heir apparent of the Kingdom of Litoral.

History

The title was created by King Henrique on 23 June 1993 to mark the birth of Infante Cristóvão, the first child and eldest son of Infante Fernando, Prince of Amores. Henrique decreed that the title would be held by the heir apparent of the heir apparent (usually – but not always – meaning the eldest son of the King's eldest son).

Upon his father Fernando's accession to the throne in 2010, Infante Cristóvão, as heir apparent to the new king, became Prince of Amores and so the title Duke of Cais fell into abeyance.
