The States of Anchorage is a micronation and a self-proclaimed sovereign state. The country runs on the principles of a democratic republic, and all major decisions are voted by the people. The nation is a mountainous area near the coast,
The States of Anchorage lay claim to the entire Municipality of Anchorage, which was divided into 13 separate states which are mostly uninhabited, except for coastal areas.
Anchorage is the founding member of the Union of Northern Micronations, which is an alliance between micronations that are on or above 40°N latitude. It was created to better communication between northern nations for trade opportunities. This organization is invite-only.
History
Incorporation of Government
After the disbanding of the Principality of Fairwave, a short-lived micronation, ex-monarch Olivia Larsen wanted to still be the President of her own micronation. She had visited Anchorage, Alaska multiple times and had family who lived there. So, she founded the States of Anchorage on 31 March 2024 at 1:07 PM. It was incorporated remotely from Australia, with her cousin as the only permanent resident for the time being. Olivia created the principles and laws of the nation, and established the Senate and People's Representatives. Instead of a monarchy, she decided to go with a democratic republic. This would allow more representation for the people, which she heavily believed in.
Establishment of Territory
Olivia spent the next couple hours zoning and defining areas to belong to the micronation, which covered the entire municipality of Anchorage and some more. She split the country into thirteen separate states, made for either federal organization, exclusion and protected zones, or representation of the people. The first official map was published under the SOA Cartography Bureau on the same day at 7:56 PM.
Founding of Union of the Northern Micronations
Acting as the founding member, the States of Anchorage created the Union of the Northern Micronation for better communication and trade between northern nations.
Symbolism
Flag
The flag of the State of Anchorage is a tri-color horizontal banner, typically compared as a combo of the state flag of Alaska and the flag of Russia, although having no correlation with Russia. The white of the flag represents snow, while the red represents the Anchorage Independence Party. The blue on the flag represents the sea and the original Alaskan flags' navy blue. The big dipper, taken from the Alaskan flag, represents the Great Bear, symbolizing strength.
Coat of Arms
The coat of arms depicts an anchor with the North Star on it, while being lowered into the water. On the top lay 13 pointed stripes, signifying each of the 13 states in the States of Anchorage.
Seal
The seal depicts an anchor with the North Star on it, while being lowered into the water. The seal is more commonly seen in public than the coat of arms, and has become a secondary symbol for the Anchorage Independence Party.
Government
The States of Anchorage is a democratic republic, a form of government operating on principles adopted from a republic and a democracy [1]. The Senate heavily believes in representation of their people, and gives the people the opportunity to vote for many different things. Although rare, the people sometimes will even vote for how their military or funding is used.

Public Voting
Public voting refers to public matters that will affect everyone in the nation, and can be publicly voted on by any registered citizen. Public voting polls can only last up to a month. Approval must be given by the Senate to cast a vote for a public matter.
Private Voting
Private voting refers to voting for something, whether it be a residential concern, law, or field of work, for people that only apply to the thing being cast to vote. Private voting polls can only last three months, and approval can be given by any government organization.
Representational Voting
Picking a new state Representative uses a ordering system and bracket that can be voted on by current Representatives or Senators. Voting is simple; rank your favorite candidates on the list provided to you "(example: there are three Representatives running. You rank your favorite in spot number one, and your least favorite in spot number three.)" If your top choice gets outvoted by another person, your second choice would be put into vote.
People's Representatives of Anchorage
The People's Representatives of Anchorage (PRoA) will go through bills to go for approval of law, and are the first step for approval of any federal changes. If a bill is accepted, it will go into the Senate. If a bill is denied, the denial cannot be appealed or vetoed from the Senate. To be added to the Representatives of Anchorage, a vote must be cast by current people in the Representatives, or can be hand selected by the Senate during a voting year. Each People's Representative is put into the government for each state, unless the state does not meet the population requirement or is classified as unrepresented state. Each state can have a maximum of 3 Representatives, which are regularly rotated every year. Elections are held from the first Sunday of March to 30 March.
Anchorage Senate
The Anchorage Senate is the executive group of the nation which have the final say in what bills are approved or denied. It is made up of six Senators, the Vice President, and the President. Each Senator is hand-picked by the President, with a maximum of 7 Senators allowed in the Anchorage Senate. The Senate also has the authority to decide what gets funding, how the military operates, zoning laws, and all other federal issues.
Presidential System
The States of Anchorage use a voting system for electing their president. The President does not have a term limit and will remain in office until voted out by the people, and can only be President once. Every four years the people will have a chance to vote out the current President. If they succeed in doing so, another vote will take place for a new President, which will take another month. Until then, the current Vice President will act as the de facto President.
