Sovereignavia, or The Sovereignavian State is a micronation located in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho, founded in April of 2023.
Currently Sovereignavia is a semi-democratic dictatorship led by Head of State Joshua Thompson, and is experiencing an unstable period, despite this, the immigration is increasing within the nation.
History
Sovereignavia was founded on April 28th, 2023, originally as a quadruple monarchy, and called The Empire of Sovereignavia. The original founders of Sovereignavia were King Elliot Crook, Baron Biff, Grand Admiral Joshua Thompson, and Queen KD, who founded the nation under the pseudonym of Paul E. Tics. It is generally agreed that under the quadruple monarchy, the empire suffered due to overall neglect from the monarchy. However, on September 18th, 2023, Grand Admiral Joshua Thompson executed a coup d'état known as the September Coup (disambiguation with 2023 Gymnasian Coup), and deposed the monarchy, establishing himself as head of the state, and renaming the Sovereignavian Empire to the Sovereignavian State. The Constitution of Sovereignavia was ratified by the signatures of five individuals, on the 25th of September 2023 after a week under a Military Junta.
Territory
The Sovereignavian State claims a four square mile area in Bear Lake to be it's current territory, it has completely open borders, but has citizens in Utah, Idaho, and Montana. On the 23rd of July, 2024, soil from the shore of Bear Lake was retrieved, and delivered to the Head of State on the 25th of July of the same year, and it has been claimed as Sovereignavian soil, colonization efforts are currently underway.
Etymology
Sovereignavia is derived from the word 'Sovereign', the primary mission of Sovereignavia, and the area 'Scandinavia', a nod to the dominant ethnicity within the population.
Politics and government
The Sovereignavian State is a dictatorship led by a Head of State, the current Head of State is Joshua Thompson. Heads of State choose their own successors, and are responsible for making laws. The Head of State Council is made of four departments, the Department of Culture, the Department of Domestic Issues, the Department of the Military, and the Department of Economy. Each department is led by an elected individual. The Sovereignavian State had, for a time, a de-facto communist government, but allowed private companies to be founded, most notably, RobertsCo., a company that was founded by citizen Robert Thompson after concerns were raised by the communist system
During the Quadruple Monarchy, the government followed an oligarchic way of passing laws, in which the monarchs all convened to discuss legislature, and in order for legislature to be passed, the monarchs had to unanimously vote in favor of doing so. The Empire of Sovereignavia was founded during a meeting between the monarchs on the 28th of April, 2023, after the meeting, however, the monarchs didn't pass any legislation on the nation until after the September Coup.
Military Junta
Joshua Thompson, on the 18th of September, 2023 launched a secret military coup and overtook Sovereignavia, declaring a temporary military junta, the other monarchs did not react to the military coup and the monarchy was deposed without violence. During the week-long military rule, Joshua Thompson recruited and accepted six citizens within the nation, and revoking the citizenship of two monarchs. The military ended with the ratifying of the constitution.
Law and order
Trials and Law Enforcement is overseen by the Department of Domestic Issues, Sovereignavia has had no crimes committed within the nation. Currently, the only offenses that are chargeable are the destruction of national symbols.
Military
The Sovereignavian State is overseen by the Department of Military, and currently has two branches, the Land Forces Branch and the Seafaring Branch. There is currently a two members of the military. (See also Military History of Sovereignavia)
Foreign relations
The Sovereignavian State is currently transferring from an isolationist foreign policy to more a more open approach when dealing with other micronations. It should be noted that Joshua Thompson has visited The Republic of Molossia, and made a private speech about the grandeur of the nation.
Sovereignavia was officially accepted as a member of the Micronational Assembly on September 25th, 2023.
On the 2nd of October 2023, Great Servobash and Sovereignavia worked out a deal of dual-recognition, and relations with Great Servobash are extremely friendly.
Sovereignavia joined the Intermicronational Court as an observer on November 1st, 2023, and became a member on the 9th of January, 2024
Sovereignavia was an official member of the Imperial Levinian Commonwealth, joining on November 6th, 2023, after being invited by Levinia, however, Sovereignavia officially seceded from the Commonwealth on the 26th of December, 2023, but signed a treaty with the Empire of Levinia the following day.

Geography and climate
The entire nation of Sovereignavia is contained within the confines of Bear Lake, it has frigid winters, typically around 25°F, freezing around 70% of winters. Sovereignavia boasts of warm summers, typically around 70-80°F, and overall, Bear Lake gets around 13 inches of precipitation annually.
Culture
Sovereignavia's culture is unique in that it uses the Deseret Alphabet writing system in many of its documents, Sovereignavia's culture is heavily influenced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, especially folklore that permeated the early settler's lives.
National Symbols
National Symbols are ever present in Sovereignavia, including within the flag, the five pointed star in front represents the five wounds Christ suffered on the cross, the inverted star behind represents evil, and how Christ overcomes it, and lastly, the Nordic Cross on the flag represents the Christian roots of the nation, its deep blue color represents the water on which it was founded.
The national animal of Sovereignavia is the Bear Lake Monster, the national bird of Sovereignavia is the Ostridge, the national tree is the Red Maple, and the national flower is the Desert Willow. All national symbols have the protected status when in the nation.
