The Republic of Olam (Hebrew: רפובליקת עולם) is a micronation that functions as a protectorate of the Laskaridian Commonwealth Association. It joined the commonwealth officially on 18 March 2024. It operated under a consulic republic, with a constitutional monarchy represented viceregally by the Governor General of Olam, Sir Benjamin Levinson.[1]
Government
The Governor General of Olam is the vice-regal representative of the crown. As is procedural with commonwealth protectorates and realms, Olam's governor, Benjamin Levinson, is a ceremonial figure. The crown of Olam is represented through its sovereign, King of Laskaridia, Sean II and V, which is also ceremonial.
Incorporation
Olam was incorporated on 18 March, 2024. It was granted protectorate status, meaning its governmental affairs and foreign affairs are independent, whilst being supervised by the High Commissioner. The sovereign is to remain a ceremonious figure in addition to the high comissioner. A royal decree was signed confirming its status
