The Republic of Miserdy, more commonly known as Miserdy, is a micronation in The Balkans. Established in 2022, surrounded by Serbia and Croatia on 3 small islands ammounting to 12 square kilometres.

Currently, a provisional government is in office, led by President Zakhar Gorshkov and Prime Minister Egor Menshikov, alongside a provisional government. The Miserdian government has promised to hold free and fair elections as soon as it is seemed to be suitable by the current administration. The second paragraph should give a brief overview of the nation's politics and governance.

Miserdy is constitutionally disarmed and promotes pacifism and has peace rooted in itself. In adition to that, unlike most European nations, many drugs, like cannabis and cocaine are legal from certain ages in Miserdian territory, but are heavily regulated. Miserdy has a very open visa policy, with citizens of most states being able to enter-visa free for 30 days.

Etymology

Etymology unknown, possibly random.

History

In late september and early october of 2022, Zakhar Gorshkov the current President and founder of the state, collaborated with some of his friends with an aim to establish a new state somewhere in Europe, with the goal of pacifism and legalisation of some drugs, which are rather pointlessly illegal in the vast majority of other European states. After some time, they found what is technically territory not fully claimed by anyone, and thus, claimed it for the Miserdian Republic.

Politics and government

Currently the Gorshkov provisional government is in office, which currently aims to establish a suitable environment to host both parliamentary and presidential elections. In addition to that, it also aims to establish relations with several other states.

President

The President currently governs by decree until a Parliament is elected. By law the President has the ability to propose bills into parliament but they also have veto power on bills passed by the Parliament. The President can also do numerous things, such as foreign policy, internal affairs etc after consulting the cabinet.

Prime Minister

The Prime Minister (PM) is the 2nd most powerful government official, and has the right to represent and speak for the President if the President is unavaiable. The PM takes office of the President in case the President unexpectedly resigns, dies or goes missing, as defined by the consitution.

Parliament of the Republic

The Miserdian Parliament, is a unicameral legislature governing most aspects of Miserdian law. Currently, elections are planned to be hosted in the future to elect 25 MPs into Parliament from 10 different electoral districts.

Political parties

Currently, no political parties exist, however the current provisional government defines itself as a more-or-less centre-left administration.

The Miserdian National Police is the primary force of law enforcement in the country

Miserdy is constitutionally disarmed.

Currently, Miserdy has no foreign relations, but is eager to establish friendly relations with other states and perhaps enter economic unions.

Currently, Miserdy is divided into 3 administrative regions, which are the islands of Mis, Er and Dy, with Er island being the biggest one. Additionally there have been talks of dividing Er islands into 2 separate subdivisions, Er East and Er West. As of now, they're all government directly from Er, the seat of government.

Miserdy enjoys a continental European climate, with rainy autumns, cold winters and hot summers.

Economy

Miserdy plans to establish a free economy with a decent amount of regulation from the government, the Miserdian Durdur, which is 1:1 pegged to the Euro is planned to be used.
