Greater Sabaria (w:Romanian: Sabaria mare) refers to an Sabarian nationalist idea. As a concept, its main goal is the formation of a Sabarian state stretching from the Sabar to the Argeș, that would encompass all culturally Sabarian people and territories. The concept is one of the most important parts of Draft:Sabarism.

Ideology

As a corner stone of Sabarian nationalism, the concept is widely used in political rhetoric inside of the Sabarian Federation. The Federation's ruling party, the Draft:National Sabarist Party has made the unification of all Sabarian people under one nation of their primary objectives. The Sabarian people have a diverse ethnic composition, some of them being "old Sabarians", who's ancestores have lived in the region for generations, others having mixed origins, such as Bulgarian, Hungarian or Moldavian that have adopted some Sabarian traditions and have mixed it with their own, creating a unique culture. The history of migration that has influenced the nation is one of the reason why outsiders are welcomed and treated with respect in Sabaria as long as they respect the local culture too.

Dacian theory

At the time of the Roman occupation of Dacia, the region of Sabaria was not occupied and remained inhabited by Dacians that would later live alongside the Goths for a long period of time. Later on, one of the kingdoms formed by the Goths in Spain bore the name Sabaria. Allegedly, the name came from a river called Río Sabor, a name very similar to the one of the Sabar. Citing the influence Dacian culture has had on the Goths, alongside the mysterious origin of the Sabar's name, some have speculated that a greater Sabarian state had existed during the Dacian period.

Archeological evidence confirms the existence of many Dacian settlements along the Sabar, the region being inhabited from the Neolithic period and up to the 11th cenutry almost without interruption, but a gothic presence has not been confirmed yet.

The theory is also characterized by the belief that Sabaria will rise again to reforge the nation and reclaim its lost heritage, establishing a second Sabarian state that will be more powerful then the first and will save the people from all outside forces that wish to destroy its culture and traditions. Supporters of the theory propose a larger area as part of what they deem "Greater Sabaria" then the one universally accepted by party leadership.
