Danlandic Broadcasting Corporation (DBC)
Dania Radio Television (DRTV) is a Danian public service broadcaster. The corporation provides TV and radio services throughout Daniia. It was founded on August 14, 2011 and changed its name various times following government changes. On February 15, 2017, DRTV became a member of the [Micronational Broadcasting Union (2015)|Micronational Broadcasting Union (MBU)]].
The television station was founded on August 14, 2011 as the Daniel-Landic Broadcasting Corporation (DLBC) and originally showed local programming such as the DLBC News. The channel was closed down on August 28, 2011. After the closure of DLBC, it has been revived several times, but was only available to view in the Kingdom of Daniel-Land.
Name changing chaos
On February 2, 2012, the DLBC was revived as Dianberg TV and showed imported programming to start with. On March 19, 2012 it was announced that Dianberg TV would rebranded as DDTV (Danlandic Television) and its main programme would be the DDTV News, showing news from the micronational world and was due to have broadcast links with the Saxon Empire, meaning that a competitor channel for both micronations would be launched, calling it DTC, however this failed.
On April 1, 2012 at 8:30 AM, the channel was rebranded as DDTV and began broadcasting the DDTV News. Following the micronation's rename back to Daniel-Land, it changed back to DLBC on April 7, 2012. On April 9, 2012 it changed back to DDTV. On May 15, 2012 DDTV did a news report on the future of the Dale Republic and A1. On June 1, 2012 it became UTV Daniel-Land when it joined Utopia, but following secession to form a new Global Democratic State of Daniel-Land, it would change its name back to DLBC. On July 7, 2012 it became STV Danland. On July 8, 2012 it was announced that the Danland Department would claim land, east to Daniel-Land, while Daniel-Land claiming west of the Danland sector. This made STV Danland, the broadcaster for Danland and the DLBC, the broadcaster for the Democratic States of Daniel-Land. On July 16, 2012 it was announced that DDTV (as STV Danland) would cease broadcasting on YouTube by the next day, meaning that it would all Danland news would now be within Slin's YouTube channel. With news being part of Dan Times and the Empyre of Slin's website, meaning that Danland (later East Danland) no longer had its own media. On July 22, 2012 it was announced that DDTV would be revived as the DTC affilate for the Danland Sector.
On August 6, 2012 Daniel-Land merged with the Saxon Empire and Elefthfria to form the Union of Daneuropa. This led the physical territory of Daniel-Land to be span-off from Daniel-Land and renamed West Danland. Also the company was renamed back to Danlandic Television, Ltd., being referred on-screen as West Danland and began to broadcast on YouTube for the second time.
This also led DTC to be rebranded as Daneuropa Television and no longer became an intermicronational TV channel, it was solely broadcasted only to the United Byzantine States.
Between September 2012 and April 2013, Daniel-Landic TV broadcasting was within DTC. By early 2013 after lack of Daniel-Landic broadcasting, due to the DLBC producing too much low-quality videos, the DLBC has announced that it would be looking into other micronational TV programmes and channels in order to gain the same quality of programmes as other micronational broadcasters. On April 12, 2013 DLBC unveiled a new logo, replacing the previous cube logo, which looked too unoriginal and too poor-quality. The new logo now looks original and has an emblem that has reference to Daniel-Land and a 3D DLBC text. The same month, the DLBC also planned to move into launching channels on DanPlayer, WorldTV and LiveStream. On April 13, 2013 DLBC launched an experimental broadcast of DLBC 1 on LiveStream with an archived DLBC News from 2012 and a launch video also from that year. The broadcaster went inactive on 27 May 2013.
On January 3, 2017, the Danian Government confirmed via the Dania News, that the DLBC will be revived as Dania Radio Television (DRTV) with a new logo and branding. It was confirmed that new broadcaster would initially air news and macronational programming, but would also in the future air its own productions. Later, the same day the station launched on WorldTV, with the first programme being and episode of the French-American cartoon series Sonic Boom, based on video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog.
On February 12, 2017, DRTV applied to join the Micronational Broadcasting Union (MBU), which was accepted three days later.
In February 2012, Dianberg TV (as DRTV was then known) announced, via it's MicroWiki article, that it would broadcast the popular Siroccan animated sitcom Micro High. There has been though some conflict as the SBC was not approached about this and as part of its policy does not allow rebroadcasts of its content without permission. However, DDTV had not yet aired the show, since DDTV did not own the copyright to Micro High, it decided that at the moment it will not be airing it, until it asks permission from the SBC.
On March 8, 2012 the Siroccan Government banned the king of Daniel-Land for airing Micro High and denied a new show for the DLBC, but Daniel-Land had been inactive at the time in order to reorganise the micronation in the wake of controversies that led to the involvement of Sirocco, Pristinia and A1 over copyright and micronational claims.
Since the broadcaster's revival in 2017, plans to air Micro High have been scrapped.
