Cow on Curry (in Slovak Krava na kari, stylized as Kráva na kari or KNK) is a Slovak-Talconian rock band active from 2018 to 2019 and again from 2020. The band is very influential on another Baranese musical artists such as DJ Vemeno.
2018-Formation and writing of poems
In December 2018, two only citizens of then-inactive Baránok, Imrich Kvajda and A.H., formed a duo that they named Cow on Curry, apparently because of a line in the comedy show ,,Red Dwarf”. First, the group was focused on writing and presenting poems, which they wrote around three. Then, the band remained inactive to the beginning of 2019.
2019 (January–June)-Golden age
In the beginning of 2019, the members of the band decided to write songs instead of poems. Then, another person, S.S., joined to the band as a drummer and percussionist. The second lineup of the band looked like this:
Later, Oľga Bebečková and T.L. also joined the band. On 29 June 2019, the band began to record their first song, Sushi, but it was never completed, as only first 10 seconds were recorded. This part remains the first thing recorded by the band, although it was never released or finished, as the original tape was most likely lost. Then, first quarrels inside the band occurred, especially between A.H. and S.S., who, being criticised for his inactivity in the band by other members, was fired immediately. He replaced by U.P. on drums. But U.P. left on 27 August of that year for unknown reasons. Later, it was found out that U.P. actually never left the group, but the members of the band added a wrong person to the group chat.
He is totally ungrateful.— A.H. after " wrong U.P." left the band chat.
2019 (July–September)-Inactivity and breakup
The band fell to absolute inactivity in the end of July 2019 and did not try to record something. On 5 September 2019, the band officialy disbanded as the members decided not to continue, because they could not record anything.[b] A.H. and S.S. partially left the musical world and Kvajda focused on his solo-project DJ Vemeno.
2020-Reunion attempts and first album
On 29 May 2020, Kvajda and S.S. announced that the band reunites. T.L. joined the group shortly after the reunion. The band was still inactive, though, and was once again dissolved in summer of 2020. They once again reunited and quickly disbanded in September 2020. The future of the band was uncertain, although it still tried to regroup and record a new song. On 30 November 2020, Kvajda launched an unexpected online call during which he said he wishes to re-establish the group and hold a jam session. S.S. and Oľga Bebečková, other ex-members of the band, agreed and started the session. The four songs, which were recorded during it, were published together as the first album of the group, Buäčka.
On 6 September 2021, the band announced that they will release a new album soon, with Oľga Bebečková as the producer. Bebečková then decided not to produce the album and officially left the group on 15 September 2021, and the band shrank to a trio. On 4 November 2021, T.L. announced that he is going to take a break from the band for an unknown period of time. He returned from his hiatus on 15 November 2021. On 2 December 2021, B.B. joined the band.
Cow on Curry was mainly an electronic band in the first years of existence, but now the band also focuses on acoustic and folk instruments and loud songs with only a few words.
