The Council of State is the upper house of the Imperial Diet of the Austrovian Empire. The Council of State is made up of half elected officials and half appointed officials. The Council of State was founded on May 13, 2018, and is the oldest legislative assembly in Austrovia after the Reichstag was abolished.
Members
Members of the Council of State are known as Councilors. Half of the Councilors on the council are elected by the citizens of their respective state, similar to how Senators of the United States are elected. The other half of the Councilors are appointed by the Monarch to ensure the Monarchy is represented in the Imperial Diet.
