The Commonwealth of Vandelland is an independent sovereign state established in 2022 located in North America. Vandelland is a constitutional Commonwealth that is presided over by the Lord Protector, which has full Executive control over the commonwealth. The Commonwealth of Vandelland declared independence in 2022.
Etymology
The term Vandelland derives from the Vandal people, which were an ethnic group that was prevalent in the 5th century, alongside the Vandalia colony proposed in the late 18th century.
History
Founding
The Commonwealth of Vandelland was founded on the 8th of February 2022. Subsequently, the Proclamation of Free Secession, the nations founding document, was signed on February 20, 2022, which explained the reasoning for the nations foundation.[1]
Government
The Commons Chamber of Vandelland is the official legislative body of the Commonwealth of Vandelland. The Parliament currently contains x seats, with Members of the Commons being elected on a Provincial basis, with the number of Members of the Commons being designated for each province. The Lord Protector is the head of state, and is a position that is served until resignation or death.
Lord Protector
Jonathan Gundy is the current Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of Vandelland, he exercises executive authority over the Commonwealth, and holds authority over the Commonwealth's Military forces.
Commons Chamber
The Commons Chamber of Vandelland is an elected legislative branch of the Commonwealth of Vandelland, it consists of x seats that are held by Members of the Commons, of which are elected in Chamber elections every six months. Whomever holds the highest number of seats is declared the ruling party by the Lord Protector, and the leader therefore is the Minister of the Interior of the Commonwealth.
