Ochana, officially the Commonwealth of Ochana, and also commonly known as the Ochani Commonwealth, is a self-declared nation-state (commonly reffered to as a micronation by outsiders) in the Southern United States. It was founded on 4 December 2020, and the capital is Arkonia City.
Ochana is the successor state to the many iterations of Arkonia, including the Federal Kingdom, the Federal Republic, the Empire, the Arkonian League, and the Directed Republic. The current style of governance was formed in early December 2020, and bears some resemblance to the Government of New Florence. While much of the government is managed and operated by one person, this is out of necessity, and the nation generally follows democratic norms and values.
Ochana can be established as an Anocracy, being democratic in form but autocratic in practice. The Commonwealth is comprised of two provinces and one directly-administered city (the capital, Arkonia City). Each of the subdivisions has their own executive and legislative branches. The head of state and government is the President of Ochana, who is the central figure in Ochana, and is formally the sovereign. The current President is A. R. Austin.There is a bicameral national legislature; however, only the Chamber of Representatives is active, as the House of Delegates will not be formed until the population reaches a certain number.
Etymology
The name "Ochana" came from a name-generator website. The founder of the nation, A. R. Austin, found it suitable as a name. This is because it bore some similarity to the Arkonian nations, as it ended in an "A". However, it was different enough as to not seem exactly the same, as Arkonia went through many government iterations, and the goal of Ochana is to create a stable micronation.
The official name of the nation is the "Commonwealth of Ochana", although the "Ochani Commonwealth" is also sometimes used in speech. Within Ochana, "The Commonwealth" is used to refer to the nation as a whole, and the government is often referred to as the metonym "Woodland" or "The Village", due to the status of Woodland Village as the capital.
History
The Arkonian Society, a Ochani historical group, has divided the history of Ochana into one era: Foundation.
Foundation
The Commonwealth was founded on 4 December 2020, with the Establishment Decree being published. Later that week, a press release detailing the 2021 plans of Ochana was published on MicroWiki@Discord. The primary purpose of this time period was establishing what exactly Ochana meant. Among other items, it was decided that Ochana would be a pacifist nation, and that there would be no military or police force. Plans were originally included for a "Unified Defense Service", but this was scrapped after a few days.
Politics and government
The government of Ochana is an anocracy. The President is the source of any and all political power. They can oversee and direct any government body. They also have the sole ability to grant powers to any government body, including the legislature and the courts. The President also operates any vacant offices.

President
There is currently no system in place for presidential elections. The current President is A. R. Austin.
The President is allowed to select a Vice President and a Chief of Staff to serve as their deputy while in office. These offices are currently vacant.
Executive Chamber
The Executive Chamber is where executive action occurs. All departments, directorates, ministries, and agencies may meet, discuss, and coordinate policy in the Executive Chamber.
