Kraton, officialy the City of Kraton (Indonesian: Kota Kraton), is a city in the Republic of St. John. Unlike other cities in St. John, Kraton is a provincial-level city, therefore Kraton does not belong to any provinces in St. John. Karaton is located in Yogyakarta and has a population of 1 as of 2021. Kraton was founded on 14 July 2019. The current Archmayor (Indonesian: Walikota Agung) of Kraton is Indra H. Kraton consists of two districts. The administrative districts of Kraton are Griya (which is the administrative centre of Kraton) and Gangsal. On 10 February 2021, the House of Representatives approved the dissolution proposal of Kraton by the central government and the government of Kraton. Kraton will be dissolved on February 16, 2021 at 23:59 (SJT). The dissolution went on as planned.
The name Kraton derives from the Kraton of Yogyakarta, the royal residence of the Sultan of Yogyakarta which located in the the same city where Kraton is located. The name kraton itself means "palace" in Javanese which is a derivation of the word keratuan which means "royal residence".
