HG&H Chris Miller, Earl of Keila, Duke of Miller, Marquess of Otium, Duke of Ridder is an inter-political figure.

Miller entered the MicroWiki community on the 9th of June, 2019 under the banner of his own country, a localized political experiment which slowly declined in its activity until its effective and indirect dissolution in mid- 2020. However, Miller was not very interested in heading his own project and preferred to work with others. This would cement a professional work-relationship and friendship with Brandon Mierzwa the King of Matachewan, whom he would found the Parliamentary Collective of States (PCS) with on the day which marked Millers entry to the community. Unaware of the wider MicroWiki community, and of MicroWiki itself, the PCS sought to be a gathering place for likeminded individuals and would not fail in this however had been misinterpreted as to be an organization. Regardless, it never achieved an organizational structure proper, and though it became a host of petty sub-community drama; it was here Miller became acquainted with many different personalities within the community such as the Empress of Cycoldia, the Chief Minister of the Damariscotta, the Emperor of Etukan, the King of Nichensbourg, the Chancellor of Elysium and the former and current monarchs of Belgica to name a few through the guidance of which he was brought into the wider community. He has served between 2019 and present day under a wide variety of different people and for many different countries, none of which have been recognized internationally. These offices he views as having been and being largely honourary job titles delegated to him with advisory functions, attributed to the fact that he is in no case a resident of the country in which he holds office. Miller has also denounced the legitimacy of several offices which he have been acknowledged to hold at some point due to reasons of being non-serious, satirical or without function.

Personal life

Miller was born in Norway to a norwegian mother and scottish father. The first year of his life was spent on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Spain. He was born with polydactyly, a growth out of his right hand thumb causing him to have 11 working fingers. After 2 botched amputations his right hand thumb is rendered useless, causing left-handedness in writing. Miller is cross-eyed and as a result can many times in photos or in public be seen covering his right eye with hair.

Notable involvements

Matachewan

Miller is currently involved with the Kingdom of Matachewan and has been involved since mid-2019. Brandon, King of Matachewan, was the first national head of state Miller had spoken to. On several occations since, Miller has been Matachewan's head of government. He and the king have a close personal and work relationship and as such Miller has acted as an advisor, having been officially appointed upon the creation of a corresponding office in December 2020. Their frequent conversations have on several occations affected the political stage of Matachewan, often through rash or hurried decisions being made privately. Many of these decisions have proven to be flawed or poorly executed, due to the frequent lack of consultation of other people.

On the political stage

Miller became involved with Matachewan during a time of the commonwealth between Matachewan and New Prussia, a questionable political entity which lasted two months at the end of which sprouted a number of rump state claimants to its succession. Among them were the 6th Kingdom of Matachewan and the Kingdom of Pomorskie the latter of which ironically and ultimately succeeded Matachewan and became known in the wake of the commonwealths dissolution as the Grand Kingdom of Matachewan. Miller was named the nations 8th Prime Minister in October of 2019 under his newly founded political party the Progress Party and held this position throughout the next month after which his tenure was renewed. He began speaking regularly with the king and the two discussed for hours at a time, often regarding localization of the Kingdom and gaining a residential support for its sovereignty and independence from Canada. Miller had been succeeded by Nicholas Lokin and re-elected on New Year's Day when the first and only local Sejm appointed pro tempore to a legislative capacity, hosted in person by the King at his house assembled and elected unanimously Marshal Beau Edwards to the office of Prime Minister ten days after. Miller would continue to serve under Mr. Edwards as the nations Deputy Prime Minister for fourty-one days and by now he had built a permanent seat on the political stage of Matachewan on the back of his party. Observing the lack of competence vested in the local government to run the country, Miller authored a piece of legislation he nicknamed the Bill of Awesomeness and in a hurry to get it past the Grand Sejm, he persuaded the king to enforce the bill via royal decree. The bill saw the abolishment of the offices of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in favour of a dual-premier system. The government was to be co-headed by two Premiers, one a de-facto appointed residential citizen, one an elected member of the globalized citizenry. This would keep a balance of political competence and political legitimacy and Mr. Edwards and Miller were made the dual premiers of Matachewan. During this time, his party, now called the Progressive-Conservative Party experienced its apex and had obtained ten out of twelve seats in the Grand Sejm. The unique, and to some complex system of government structure experienced a balanced share of support after its introduction, however Miller received much criticism for exploiting his friendship with the king in order to push his views. On April 2nd, 2020, he resigned from office ignorant from the fact that the next election was scheduled two days after, stating personal reasons. He would continue to lead the Progressive-Conservative party through a politically heated split during the next couple of months, largely fuelled by his previous actions as Deputy Prime Minister and then one of the Premiers, dramatically ending in the rise of the Social Union and subsequent election of Robert Smith to the premiership on the 1st of June, 2020. Having found political motivation in rivalry, Miller ran and was elected to the Grand Sejm on this day and continued to serve until August as the leader of the opposition, however observing the recent controversies in the election of a speaker of the Sejm perfectly demonstrating the institution's disorganisation he opted to never run for a seat again. His party had worked tirelessly during this time to form a wide political coalition in order to elect Xavier Jackson the nations new Premier in the elections of August, after which Miller was appointed to the Council of Ministers in the capacity of foreign minister.

Towards the latter half of 2020, Miller would put his focus on the foreign ministry. He appointed himself as the Matachewanian delegate to the Cupertino Alliance on the 25th of September, and in a meeting with the king and premier he proposed and organized a digital international summit he named the Oblate Convention, which took place on the 9th of October and on the 12th of November. And in December he successfully patched up relations between Misberia and Matachewan, which had earlier in the year become a touchy subject on both sides.

Decline

2021 would not be nice to Matachewan, and during this time Miller and the king spoke frequently regarding foiled plans of localized expansion. Matachewan was in need of a rebrand however figuring this out would not be an easy task. During the coming months, political parties would be closed, Matachewan would leave the Cupertino Alliance, the name Matachewan would be briefly abandoned for Polonia and many governmental plans were drafted and considered most often between Miller and the king, including one to abolish the monarchy. There were also inputs and voting by the council of ministers which itself would be de-facto abolished along with the rest of government functions on the 14th of May. Miller co-authored with the king the Matachewanian Declaration of State released on the nations 6 year anniversary and worked along with the king to draft a new constitution and re-work Matachewan from the ground up. Miller remained the only non-residential citizen of Matachewan, and the only member of government as minister of foreign affairs, though in name only. In a call on the 26th of July on the same year, Miller and King Brandon agreed to abandon Matachewan for good. There is no available source for the oral dissolution of the country, and it has never been documented.

Atiera

Miller became involved with Atiera towards the end of its founding phase (Empire of Atiera, 30 May - 10 August 2020). Intrigued by its proximity to Matachewan, he sought to become involved for the sake of strengthening their mutual relations. Seeing that the internal organization of Atiera was poor, Miller ran and was elected the Kingdom's first prime minister on the 24th of October in a small scale election for his newly proclaimed political organization the Atieran National Front against William Cooper of the Atieran People's Union. This election would set the standard for the political stage of Atiera throughout the rest of its existence.

Heraldry

The Order of Brandon I, designed by Miller in December 2019 using Google Slides and lunapic.org
The Order of St. Anthony, designed by Miller in March 2021 using Google Drawings and sketch.io

Miller gained an interest in heraldry from a long fascination with history combined with an established attraction to graphic design which would become more and more relevant through his study of the heraldic field. Having no prior skills in the field of graphic design, Miller began making prototypes of medals and ribbon bars in late 2019 using Google Slides and lunapic.com. This would evolve into Google Drawings and sketchpad.io to allow for manual erasing of certain things to extract elements from other works, though in turn for a terrible resolution. Having avoided to pursue Inkscape for a long time, fearing its difficulty, he found the potential of the tool as means of extracting elements which he had previously done with sketchpad.io and with advice from notable graphic designers such as Dhrubajyoti Roy, Ludwig Brienovic and Cameron Koehler he learned how to use inkscape. This would allow for better quality works to be created, and with more potential to create also came a deeper study into the potential of heraldic creation.

Political views

Miller's political beliefs are much in correlation to the political system of Norway. He shows no interest in the politics of finance and sticks to the economical implications of Norwegian social democracy which puts him on the category of economic centrism. However in terms of the social axis he is a firm believer in authoritarian democracy or "organic democracy" in the sense of Emmanuel Joseph Sieyès' maxim "confidence from below, authority from above."

Titles, styles, honours and arms

Miller is the nominal recipient of several honours, however these come usually in the form of self-styled pseudo-chivalric orders and it is important to notice per June 2021, none of them are recognized internationally. These awards are issued, accepted and renounced only in name. Miller has been created by the King of Revalia the Earl of Keila and by the King of Vishwamitra the Baron of Sunnmore and Count of Romsdal. These territorial designations of the latter derive from the Estonian town of Keila and Norway respectively, and would be classified as false titles of nobility in respect to which, as well as the Constitution of the Kingdom of Norway - §118, he does not enforce his claim to use the titles. The King of Vishwamitra has stated in regards to this that the territorial designations are a part of the title and have nothing to do with the area from which the titles are inspired. The same logic can be assumed with Revalia. On the 16th of August 2021, Miller was upgraded by the King of Vishwamitra to the title of Duke of Sunnmore. He requested to be revised instead as Duke Miller, though this came on paper as Duke of Miller. On the creation of the Galtesian peerage system on the 4th of September 2021, Miller was created the non hereditary Marquess of Otium, a subdivision of Galte.
