The Butterfly Party, officially the Butterfly Independent Democratic Party (mt. Il-Partit Demokratiku Indipendenti tal-Farfett) was a political party in Melite. It was founded by the late Mr. Richard Sultana and existed macronationally in Malta between 1987–1996, when it dissolved, after Mister Sultana passed away. Many Maltese people still admire him today, including Andrea Vassallo, who lead the revived "Partit tal-Farfett" (en. Butterfly Party.) It had two seats in the Parliament of Melite making it the largest party, though was still not the ruling party. The Party was dissolved after continuous inactivity in late 2021.
