|Successor||Currently holds office|
|Appointed by||Lord Matthew|
Chelmsford, United Kingdom
|Occupation||Minister of Technology|
Crown Minister Ben is a renowned technological genius and has worked on many projects for Essexia including working for its space agencies (Previously CRESER and SPAC, now EAST). He is the current Minister of technology, and the leader of the Weeaboo Rights Party. He is also a former First Minister of Essexia.
After the 2019 Essexian general election, Ben gained a seat in parliament and due to this a lordship. Lord Ben has been an untraditional Royalist, due to his previous affiliation with the Weeaboo Rights Party, as he has been a strong advocate for minority rights in particularly weeb rights. Although he is an untraditional Royalist wanting more protection for weebs he isn't a New Royalist like the First Minister or the Second Minister, and is firmly a member of the Royalist right, supporting socially conservative and economically right-wing policy.
He began working for Essexia's various scientific organisations in late 2018, including CRESER (A scientific society devoted to the furtherment of technology in Essexia, it became defunct late 2018), SPAC (A space agency which became defunct at some point in mid 2019) and EAST. He is one of the Chief Engineers of EAST, and has single-handedly manufactured the nose cones, winglets, launch lugs and engine mounts of every domestically-built rocket so far.
He was invited by Emperor Terry to form a government during the Constitutional Convention on the 11th September 2020 at Ben's house, after incumbent First Minister Sam H announced his intentions to stand down in the near future. A number of MPs and Ministers were present, as well as the Emperor, and all agreed to Ben becoming the FM despite his difference in Party (He is the leader of the Weeaboo Rights Party as opposed to Sam H, who was a member of the Progressive Workers' Party) and the lack of any election.
On the 31st December 2020, Ben released the first inaugural First Minister's New Years Broadcast, in which he acknowledged the touch challenges faced by Essexians and the micronational community during 2020 mostly as a result of COVID-19, as well as Essexia's achievements that year (Including Jack D's election as GUM Chair). This video was released alongside the Emperor's usual annual speech.
Following the events of Hot Pink Friday, Ben stood down as First Minister on the 19th February 2021 at 23:06 UTC. He stated the following:
"Tonight's actions have demonstrated the current instability of Essexia, something that was inherent and not particularly visible. I feel that, in my capacity as First Minister, I am unable to mend the schism that has grown so suddenly and widely. Whilst I have enjoyed my time in office, and for the most part it was a peaceful term, I see now that it is perhaps time for me to step down, and allow my successor to start the long road to real change. This should be taken as my letter of resignation, and I wish to put [Jack D] forward for First Minister, as the leader of the Giraffe Concordat. I thank all members of parliament, ministers and citizens of this great Commonwealth the best, and hope to continue working on making Essexia a better place in the future. Long live the Commonwealth!"
Against all odds, Ben was able to hold onto his seat in the 2021 Essexian general election and keep the WRP in Parliament for another term.
