B5AB6 is the twenty-seventh album created by Scott Harwood. The album will be distributed on the Shedpop label. B5AB6 is the second part of Harwood's Australia Trilogy.

Production

In contrast to most of Harwood's previous albums, which usually took one or two days to record and release, B5AB6 took over two years. The album was mostly composed in Harwood's van in Australia.

The full album was released on YouTube on the 30 August 2016, however 'Space Age' was released on the Pipe Dreams EP on the 20 May 2015.

Production on the album was completed on the 4 August 2016 after long delays.

Styling

B5AB6 is one of Harwood's most complex albums to date.

"Infinity is Dead" is characterised by its opening on a Hammond organ emulator, fading into a Berlin School sequence overdubbed with a poem written by Harwood on the island of Berneray in 2014.

"Space Age" is a poetic track known for it's cosmic lyrics and guitar.

"Don't Let the Funk Steal Your Thunder" is a dark ambient piece structured over a drum beat.

"Legally-Protected Drinking Den" opens with a sample from a ceilidh on Berneray in 2015, and is characterised by a fast repetitive drum beat and an almost 'thrash metal' sound.

"B5AB6" opens with a sample recorded on Royal Brunei Airlines Flight 872 from Kuala Lumpur to Bandar Seri Begawan, and fades into a Goa trance track similar to that of Gaiatalamh.

"Colliding Galaxies (A Love Song)" is a poetic cosmic guitar track similar to that of Space Age.

Samples

The album makes heavy use of (often heavily-modified) samples.
