Avon is the oldest county in the Republic of New Melanesia. It was established on 28 July 2022.
National Significance
As the capital county in the republic, the national legislature is located within the county.
Governance
Avon is an executive mayoralty, lead by a the County Mayor of Avon. The county mayor chairs the Avon County Council who is the primary legislative body for the county who's power is devolved from the central government.
