The 2017–18 AshuLeague will be the 2nd season of the top-level Ashukov national basketball league. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the MicroLeague, this will be the 4th season of the premier competition for micronational basketball clubs which decides both the domestic and the international champions.
For the 2017-18 season the league is under the supervision of the Ashukov Basketball Federation which has given naming rights to Faces magazine, according to a sponsorship contract with the Independent Media Group.
The Finals will take place in Hagiopolis in 2018.
Teams
The league is currently in the development stage after a break of 2 years and wild cards are expected to be given to a number of teams. So far, only Mouzilo Eagles have expressed interest in the competition. On October 7 the St. Constantine Baptists also confirmed their participation, accompanied by the UofA Lions, the UM Foxes, and Spartak who did so a day later. The organisers have also come in contact with the federation of Hasanistan, which has confirmed that former contestant Dynamo Batyr will rejoin the competition, possibly joined by an other Hasani team.
A number of former contestants, namely the Hagiopolis Caps, the Dzoltovolk Eagles, BC Finghall, the Akebar Roosters, BC Montania and ASVIS, abstained from the tournament for reasons varying from disinterest to inactivity.
