The 7th general election in the Abeldane Empire was held on 9 September 2016. Ned Gunderson and Patrick Renwick, both of the new Democratic-Liberty Party (DLP), were elected as Vorsitzender and Stellvertreter, respectively. The Conservative Party became the largest opposition party, and its leader, John Smith, became the official Leader of the Opposition in the Reichsversammlung.

This was the third and final election of the 3rd Reichsversammlung.
