General elections were held in Forestia from 30 January 2023 to 5 February to elect the president, vice president, members of the National Assembly, governors, and vice governors. If there is a tie for any of the positions available for voting, there will be a second tie-breaker round.

Electoral system

All positions that can be elected by the public are in a form that citizens can fill from the starting period to the ending period of the elections. The voting period starts on 29 January and ends on 5 February. The candidate who has the largest amount of verified votes will be elected for the position. However, in the case of a draw, there will be a second round to determine who is elected for the position. If there are not enough candidates for a position, the incumbent position holder will remain in office until the next election.

Voters

All Forestian passport or citizenship holders are allowed to vote. Voting is managed through a form that is filled through a computer or a cellphone. To be able to vote, a passport or citizenship holder needs to be at least 13 years old before the start of the voting period.

Procedure

Voting in Forestia is done through an online form which can be filled during a set voting period. The voting period lasts from 29 January until the 5 February. If there is a tie for any of the positions, there will be a second tie-breaker round that will last four days. Each Forestian passport or citizenship holder that has a minimum age of 13 before the voting period starts is automatically eligible to vote for any position. Vote counts start after the end of the voting period and are finalized whenever the counting finishes.
