The 2023 Ikerlàndia parliamentary election was held on 24 April 2023. Three political party run. The Ikerlandian Nationalist Front came victorious winning twenty of thirty two seats of the Congress of Deputies of Ikerlàndia. Voters elected Pittujamsä Pelutxinná and candidate for vice-speaker, former Vice President of Ikerlàndia Peewaa Braddy with 58.6% of the vote, while Minority Leader Daagga Krainna and his vice-presidential nominee, Minority Whip Taatta Mooreen received 31.0% of the vote.

Pittujamsä Pelutxinná, the first and incumbent president, won the Ikerlandian nomination without any serious opposition. On 30 January 2023 Olivier announced that his running mate would be Secretary of State, Krainna Saabba, making him the first Asian-Ikerlandian vice-presidential running mate.

Congressional Minority Leader Daagga Krainna secured the Social Ikerlandian nomination over his closest rival.

Former Congressional Minority Leader Waatmaat Baabba won the Conservative Party nomination on 4 May 2023.

The Labour Party nominated Uraeens Waadda on 25 April 2023.

Pelutxinná and Saabba were inaugurated on 09 July 2023 following the protocol.

General election campaign

Party conventions

The Ikerlandian National Convention 2023 was held in Bai from 29 April to 2 May 2023. The Social Ikerlandian Convention 2023 was held in Daagga on 9 May 2023.

Debates

The Commission on Electoral Debates hosted three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate during the first round campaign. One presidential debate was cancelled. No debates were held during the second round campaign.

Qualification of candidates

In order to qualify for the IBS-sponsored debates, presidential candidates have to meet the following criteria; vice-presidential candidates qualify by being the running mate of a qualifying presidential candidate:

  • Be constitutionally eligible to hold the Speakership.
  • Appear on the ballot.
  • Either:
    • be nominated by a political party with representation in the Parliament.
    • hold or have held previously a political office.
