The 2015 Viadalvian coup d'état was a watershed event in the history of Viadalvia. Following an extended period of social and political unrest between the left dominated Staatsraad and the elected conservative President Timo Vink, as well as economic warfare ordered by Ellen van Dijk was overthrown by the armed forces

The military abolished the democratic government and established a right-wing government that brutally repressed left-wing political activity both domestically and abroad. The unrest began on the Second Viadalvian Civil War as the Left-Opposition took advantage of a government-implemented removal of fuel subsidies to call for mass protests On 1 June, as the Viadalvian Army took control of all Government buldings, The troops that did fight Viadalvian Army in an unsuccessful attempt to stop their advance were affiliated with General Youri Swite

Causes

The removal of Van Dijk from office by the coalition was a result of a coup d'état following protests, that were instigated by frustration with Van Dijk's socialist rule in which Viadalvia faced economic issues, energy shortages, lack of security and diplomatic crises. Although Viadalvia's infrastructure was in a poor state many of these issues were attributed to Morsi and his government, even though these failings are widely attributed to Mubarak-regime loyalists in many parts of the state organizations.[33] Some of the issues that might have caused the protests and lead to the later removal of Van Dijk include: Power, gas and economical crises. Plans to cut subsidies and nationalisise all Viadalvian private companies Another factor in the revolution is the Viadalvian "Way to Socialism" policy, a policy banning right-wing parties.
