This micronation is a member of the Malinovian Union of Microstates.

The State of Malinovia, more commonly referred to as Malinovia, is a claimed micronation mainly located in Escambia County, Florida. It is made up of 4 non-contiguous exclaves surrounded by the states of Alaska, Washington, Michigan, and Maryland.

Malinovia is considered a democratic republic; it's government shares concepts originating from both classical republicanism and Athenian democracy.

Malinovia doesn't generally enter into formal relations with other micronations, with the exception of only a select few; however, they will and do actively participate in informal relations with other micronations, such as the Republic of Molossia and Republic of West Who.

Etymology

The name Malinovia is derived from the last name of Rodion Malinovsky. According to President Aydan Dillon, the reason Malinovksy was chosen was that he has a big influence on the Malinovian political system; the military uses some tactics present while Malinovksy was in office as defense minister of the Soviet Union.

History

Politics and government

The form of government is a democratic republic with a presidential system. It is sometimes classed as an oligarchic democracy or a government system in which power is divided by three different social groups.

Law and order

Malinovian law is based on the civil law legal system and civil law concepts prevail over common law practice.

The court system is similar to that of the United States; with national-level courts and state-level courts, with different levels of courts (eg. district court, court of appeals, etc.) leading up to the state's High Court (and for select issues, beyond to the Federal High Court).

Foreign relations

Malinovia rarely enters into formal diplomatic relations but rather informal ones, such as the Republic of Molossia who also doesn't establish formal diplomatic relations. When the two leaders (these being Aydan Dillon and Kevin Baugh) finally met on 15 June 2019, the two nations learned much about each other's cultures and daily lives, as well as their leadership style. The government of Malinovia condemns all acts of violence against their nation or any member states of the MUoM.

Military

The Malinovian military doesn't yet exist; the population is simply too small. However other micronations, such as the ones in the Malinovian Union of Microstates, provide soldiers for ceremonial reasons such as presidential inaugurations and funerals.

Geography and climate

The weather in Malinovia is unpredictable- it can range from being calm and placcid, to angry and turbulent. Especially in Auroris, where the average daily temperature in the summer is 96 degrees plus humidity (and this doesn't count the frequent and unexpected thunderstorms).
