The Royal Family Order of Purvanchal, or more formally the Most Noble Royal Family Order of Purvanchal is the highest chivalric and dynastic order of the province of Purvanchal which is conferred by the Rajpramukh of Purvanchal, as the head of the House of Roy which is the current ruling house of the province as well as the national ruling house. It was constituted on 7 September 2020, along with the Order of the Territorial Crown of Purvanchal in order to replace the Order of the Crown of Dhrubajyoti. It is bestowed only upon monarchs and members of the royal families of the state and foreign for their exceptional and meritorious services towards the province and the people. It is often granted as a token of friendship and affection to foreign monarchs upon the act of establishment of bilateral relations with Vishwamitra.

Grades and insignia

Grades

The Royal Family Order of Purvanchal is conferred in two distinct grades of - Grand Knight or Dame and Grand Commander. The highest grade of Grand Knight or Dame is conferred upon the state royalties, including the provincial monarchs and members of the royal houses. The first foreigner to be granted with the grade of Grand Knight was Arthur II of Ebenthal. The grade of Grand Commander is granted to any royal, irrespective of national or foreign.

The Rajpramukh of Purvanchal, as the fons honorum of all orders and decorations of Purvanchal and the head of the House of Roy is the Sovereign of the order, while the heir to the throne, currently Princess Sarala serves as the Grand Mistress of the order. Grand Knights or Dames are entitled to the post-nominal letters of GKOP, while the Grand Commanders use the post-nominal letters of GCOP.
