The Qootärlænt Space Agency is the official space program of Qootärlænt
The mission of the QSA is to build rockets or other air crafts. These rockets will be used to send up video camera's. The main purpose for making aerial video's is to prove that the earth is a flat disk and not a globe.
The Space program of Qootärlænt started in June 2009 with a few test rockets and a test-launcher. The armed forces used the explored techniques to build a canon in May 2010. In June 2010 the first Michael-Rocket was build and launched with a 'trial launcher' the launcher broke after a few launches and the Michael I was destroyed when it crashed a few times. The QSA was founded in that same time. After that the Michael II and a new launcher where developed. The Michael II had a bigger engine and better wings so it could go higher and fly straight. While the Michael I flew only ±25 meters, reached the second edition almost 50 meters. In December 2010 the QSA started the Rudolf program. The Rudolf I was build. It was build after the Michael II but with a parachute in the nose. The Rudolf program is still in the testing phase.
In 2011 the QSA started to test a new launcher.
For the future the QSA has several goals. The first one is building a working Rudolf Rocket. After that the construction of a new launch platform and a Rocket with boosters is planned. The QSA hoped that they would have a two stage rocket in the end of 2014 with additional an altimeter and an onboard camera but this plan had to be moved to the summer of 2015. As of July 2015 the two stage rocket is near completion and will enter its test fase.
An other goal is building a Rocket that brings a radio-controlled glider in the air that can make pictures from high altitude. There are also plans to launch a solar balloon in the near future.
From 2012 the QSA has together with QNN been planning to create a documentary about the flat earth. In the end of 2013 the production stage is started. The title of the planned documentary is 'The earth is round, like a pancake.' It's goal is to make a philosophical argument for the flat earth.
Named after gospel singer Michael W. Smith because of his song "fly to the moon." A Michael Rocket is a water rocket with a very simple design. It is made with a soda bottle upside down with the point of another bottle at it's top and some fins.
Multiple versions have been made:
Michael 1: 1.5 liter engine and cardboard fins. Status: crashed
Michael 2: 1.5 liter engine and plastic fins. Status: crashed
Michael 3: 2 liter engine and cardboard fins. Status: since April 2014. Ongoing project.
The Rudolf Rocket is an updated version of the Michael Rocket but with parachute. It is named for Rudolf Erich Raspe, the writer of an English book about baron Munchhausen.
Only one Rudolf has been produced thus far and one is planned for spring 2014.
Rudolf 1: 1.5 liter engine, plastic fins, parachute recovery system. Status: crashed.
Rudolf 2: 2 liter engine, plastic fins, parachute recovery system. Status: in planning stage.
These rockets are named for Bruce Willis because of his role in Armageddon. These are made of two bottles cut in half and then reconnected.
Bruce 1: Engine about 3 liter, was lost on its first launching day
Bruce 2: Copy of Bruce 1 and was lost on the same day.
Bruce 3: Also around 3 liter, in the final production, not yet launched.
The Dædalus project is not about water rockets but solar balloons. Only one balloon was produced yet and it never flew.
Dædalus 1: a 4 meter long solar tube, it did not work.
