The Principality of Arkel is a Dutch territorial micronation. Arkel is a sovereign micronation and was a former vassal of the Grand Duchy of Flandrensis, Arkel is not a ‘virtual nation’. Arkel borders Flandrensis and Westarctica at Dean Island and West Antarctica at the Ross Ice Shelf. Arkel is now a member of the Flandrensisian Commonwealth. On 30th May 2018 Arkel left the Flandrensisian Commonwealth When the Principality of Arkel became under the Control of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land and its King His Majesty King Terrance Fired the old Government. On the 31st May 2018 The Principality of Arkel became a Member a Special Administrative Region of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land under the Principality of Arkel's new constitution. all Citizens are now citizens of both Ross Ice Shelf and a Special Administrative Region citizen of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land.

History
Arkel was founded with the help of Flandrensis under the name the ‘Heerschap Arkel’. Later the name changed into the ‘Heerlijkheid Arkel’.
On 6th June 2009 the leader ask the Government of Flandrensis if they want to take over the Heerlijkheid Arkel. Since 1 July 2009 Arkel would be a Principality and a vassal of the Grand Duchy of Flandrensis.
The official treaty between Arkel and Flandrensis shall enter into force on 1 July 2009. The Principality of Arkel is under full protection of Flandrensis.
Since 24 October, Arkel is a member of the Flandrensisian Commonwealth

on 30th May 2018 Principality of Arkel became under the Control of The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land. Has The Commonwealth of Marie Byrd Land Claim Predates that of Principality of Arkel by 4 years has the Principality of Arkel is inactive The King took control under his Claim to dean Island. Territory
Dean Island Dean Island in the Antarctic is an ice-covered island, 37 kilometres (20 nmi) long and 19 kilometres (10 nmi) wide, lying within the Getz Ice Shelf and midway between Grant Island and Siple Island, off the coast of Marie Byrd Land. It was first sighted from a distance of 37 kilometres (20 nmi) from the USS Glacier on February 5, 1962, and was named for Chief Warrant Officer S.L. Dean, U.S. Navy, Electrical Officer on the Glacier at the time of discovery.
