A Physic or Lavativa is a drink concoction made of baking soda, water, vinegar, and sometimes sugar. It is thought to help with abdominal pains and clearing the GI tract.

To create a physic/lavativa, one must add vinegar and water into a cup. They then take a spoonful of baking soda, and mix it into the water and vinegar solution. When it begins to bubble, it is standard to guzzle or chug the whole serving.
