Background
The elections are the third in the OAM's history to follow the 'normal' four month cycle of elections and are also the elections with the highest number of registered voters (80).
Voting System
Following the passing of Resolution 176 in June 2011, these elections are the first to be held using the Alternative Voting (AV) System of voting. This is designed to make the vote counts easier to read, as under the old 'ranked pairs' system, candidates were elected without appearing to achieve a numerical majority.
It was also the first election to use the vote 'count' as an actual reflection of the number of votes cast, rather than in the past, which used the automatically generated number, which tended to inflate ballot figures.
Results
Milo Holland was elected as Secretary-General, Daniel Anderson, King Quentin I and Richard Garrshire were elected as the three Vice Secretaries-General and all three candidates for the inaugural positions as Justices of the newly created Intermicronational Court of Law were successful, with Adam I of Überstadt becoming the first Chief Justice.
