South Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee
South Memphis, one of the oldest portions of Memphis, Tennessee, is a community stretching from Midtown and Downtown to the Mississippi state line. In its early days, it was primarily an agrarian community. South Memphis has many well-known neighborhoods including Whitehaven, Lauderdale Sub, Longview, Riverside, Lakeview Gardens, Prospect Park, Dukestown, Gaslight Square, Wilbert Heights, Alcy, Mallory Heights, Dixie Heights, Warren Park, Barton Heights, Elliston Heights, Handy Holiday, Chickasaw Village, Pine Hill, Indian Hills, Bunker Hill, Westwood, Boxtown, West Junction, Walker Homes, Coro Lake, Nehemiah, and French Fort. Many of these neighborhoods are considered home to many famous Hip Hop/R&B singers and rappers from old to new. Many locations in South Memphis are also considered a hotbed for crime and violence due to the high amount of gang influence and poverty level of the area. But South Memphis is known for its plentiful houses of worship including Mt Vernon Baptist Church Westwood, St Andrew AME Church, Washington Chapel CME Church, East Trigg Baptist Church, White's Chapel AME Church, Union Valley Baptist Church, Enon Springs Baptist Church, Warner Temple AME Zion Church, Unity Baptist Church, Ford's Chapel AME Zion Church, St. Augustine Catholic Church, and Monumental Baptist Church just naming a few.
The Free Land of Mennefer Tanasi is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Mansa Menefer with an even hand, and notable for its compulsory military service, prohibition of alcohol, and suspicion of poets. The democratic, devout population of 1.186 billion Mennefer Tanasians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Little Riverside. The average income tax rate is 35.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.
The sizeable but inefficient Mennefer Tanasian economy, worth 40.1 trillion C currencies a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Trout Farming, Basket Weaving, and Tourism. Average income is 33,849 C currencies, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.
Shanty towns are forming in the suburbs of major cities, the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, ambitious "businessmen" use their children to sell and advertise their products, and Mansa Menefer has been known to threaten dissenting citizens with a machine gun at press conferences. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mennefer Tanasi's national animal is the Game breed dogs, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
Mennefer Tanasi is ranked 113,011th in the world and 4,792nd in Balder for Smartest Citizens, with 24.71 Quips Per Hour.
