MicroWiki:Good articles
Good articles are considered to be the best articles on MicroWiki as determined by MicroWiki's editors. Before being listed as a good article, articles must be nominated and voted upon for accuracy, neutrality, comprehensiveness, structure and style. This project is designed to help improve article quality on MicroWiki and reward good article editing and creation. At present, there are 97 good articles out of a total of 33,420 articles in MicroWiki. A small blue symbol () on the top right corner of an article's page indicates that the article is of good quality.
Criteria
A good article is one that is:
- Well-written: its prose is engaging, coherent, clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct. There should be a minimal number of red links.
- Comprehensive: it neglects no major facts or details, is of substantial length but does not go into unnecessary detail, remaining focused on the main topic.
- Accurate: it is well-researched and its claims are verifiable and not in dispute.
- Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias.
- Illustrated: it should, where possible, be illustrated with appropriate images with succinct captions.
- Well-structured: it should have a concise introduction that summarises the topic and a system of hierarchical section headings with a substantial but not overwhelming table of contents.
Process
Before nominating an article, nominators may wish to receive feedback by asking an administrator. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter to deal with objections during the GA process. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult the author and/or regular editors of the article prior to a nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly.
If a nominator feels that an article satisfies all the criteria, the article can be nominated by any user on the nomination page making sure that they provide the title of the article, a link to it and the signature of the nominating user. A user should only nominate one article each month. The article will then be reviewed by the community and voted on over a period of seven days after being nominated, with nominators and authors of the article being encouraged to respond to constructive criticism and to address objections promptly. While the number of votes in support or opposition are the main thing taken into account, the arguments on each side will also be considered. A nomination with several blank "support" votes and only a few "oppose" votes may still be rejected if those "oppose" votes make very good arguments against it. Neither will a simply majority be considered; broad consensus needs to be reached, which will be decided at the discretion of the administrator who closes the vote.
Following the seven day period, an administrator will determine consensus of the community and it will either be approved or rejected. If an article is approved, the community deems that it satisfies the criteria, and it will officially be listed as a Good Article. If an article is rejected, the article does not satisfy the criteria and an explanation of why will usually be provided by the reviewing users. Rejected articles should only be nominated again after one month following the previous nomination, and only if improvements have been made to improve the article since.
In the last week of each month, all Good Articles approved that month or the previous month will be voted on by the community. The approved Good Article with the highest number of votes (with admin consensus providing a deciding vote in the case of a tie) will be Featured on the Main Page for at least the first fourteen days of the new month (the Featured Article for the remainder of the month will be a previously approved Good Article decided by consensus of the admins, to ensure articles are not only ever Featured once).
Template
To use the good article template, add {{GA|revision=123456|date=5 July 2022}}
to the top of the article. The correct revision and date are the ones that are most recent, just prior to the article being approved. For help on how to use the template correctly, contact an administrator.
Nominations
DIME Magazine
- Nominator: ★ ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 10:37, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Initially, I planned on nominating Logo of MicroWiki, but I believe it may take a few more weeks to completely finish. So, in the meantime, I am nominating DIME Magazine: I originally wrote this article on the short-lived magazine in March 2021, but never got around to nominating it. After copyediting I did on 11 March 2022 and yesterday, I believe the article is well-researched and as expansive as can be without going into any unnecessary detail, well-written and stable grammar-wise, elegantly formatted, perfectly illustrated for an article on a magazine, and its six citations are fairly decent (plus consistent). Constructive feedback would be gladly appreciated!! ★ ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 10:37, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support: So far as I see, there is only one correction to be made. Roblox doesn’t need to be capitalised. Other than that, good job!

Kingdom of Roskya (second nomination)

Renominating this since a consensus wasn't reached last time. johann kümmel (talk page) 19:13, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
COMMENTOverall a very good article (love the grammar!). I have made some changes that I hope were constructive, but I have a few questions:- "on the same day, Sean Dunkerque was impeached from the Grand Parliament following a vote." Was this a parliamentary vote or a public vote?
- In 'Political parties', the reader is told that parties were not defined by law, then the article later mentions registration. Can you epxand on how registration worked (i.e. who handled it, criteria, etc.)?
- In the same section, is there a reason as to why the entry for the Democratic Socialist Party omits a chairperson?
- What does "Socialism until it is no longer needed" infere? As I have no political knowledge, do you know of any possible term that may be able to convinently describe said ideology? If not, I would recommend an efn note.
- Can 'Culture' be expnded at all?
That is all from me. I would be more than happy to vote support once my concerns have been addressed. Additionally, I have an active GAN myself (DIME Magazine), and I would appreciate your two cents if you could give any feedback or a support. ★ ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 23:26, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Kingdom of Salanda
- Nominatior: User:SALANDA (THE KINGDOM OF SALANDA) (talk) 20:32, 1 June (UTC)
I’d like to humbly nominate the Kingdom of Salanda article which I have worked on a lot, I’ve tried to make it as best as I can and I’m a bit nervous about nominating here, I hope that it is alright for nomination since I’ve tried my best.
- OPPOSE (for now) @SALANDA (THE KINGDOM OF SALANDA): The grammar and formatting is decent but there are some other concerns. I will give more thorough feedback on the text itself when I have the time, but here are my initial concerns from a quick read-through:
- The spaces before citations should be removed.
- Punctuation should come before the citation (i.e. "…for what it was,[2]" not "…for what it was [2],").
- There is an excessive amount of images—this is especially prevalent in 'Geography' and 'Judiciary' and the two headings under it. For some readers on smaller desktops or mobile, having two images on separate sides to each other makes the text in the middle look squished, so this should be avoided. I would recommend removing less important images or—where relevant—using Template:Multiple image.
- In the article (aside from the infobox), there is no mention of the official languages of Salanda. Perhaps add some info about them (e.g. why they are official, number of speakers, usage in government etc.) in 'Demographics'.
- "uncodified constitution which was used between 2 November 2020 and 13 October 2020" should be "uncodified constitution which was used between 2 November and 13 October 2020" per English standards.
- 'Policy' and 'Sanctioned micronations and unrecognition' are both incredibly short; I recommend removing the heading of both sections and merging the relevant text into 'Foreign relations and policy'.
- In 'Holidays', the column in the table titled Details should instead be a quick summary of what the holiday is about and how it is celebrated. Public holidays in New Eiffel may perhaps have a few good examples. This will be helpful to readers for learning about Salandarian holidays.
- In 'Citizenship', there are two mentions of Discord that should be capitalised.
- 'Race and ethnicity' is fairly short, perhaps merge this into 'Demographics'?
- Can 'Economy' and 'Education and Research' be expanded at all?
Please ping me once you have addressed these concerns :) Additionally, I have an active GAN myself (DIME Magazine), and I would appreciate your two cents if you could give any feedback or a support. ★ ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 00:46, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Empire of Ela'r'oech
- Nominator: Ela'r'oech Charles (talk) 18:39, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Comment by nominator: Since the previous nomination I have awaited a reasoning to actually act on the suggestions I was given. Summer is here and while I'm working to start doing things with Ela'r'oech again I figured now would be a good time to act on Zed's suggestions and add more content to the article. Here's the new attempt for GA, I suppose. Ela'r'oech Charles (talk) 18:39, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Christina I of Cycoldia
- Nominator: 𝙷𝙸𝙼 𝙲𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚊 𝙸 𝚘𝚏 𝙲𝚢𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚍𝚒𝚊 (𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔) 17:22, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Comment by nominator: Nominating due to the expansion of a lot of sections.
- COMMENT: It is my opinion that the article title does not fit the manual of style which states that only articles on kings and queens are to be in the format of [name] of [name of realm] while other monarchs will go as [name], [title] of [realm]. So I think that the article shall be renamed to Christina I, Summi Imperatoria of Cycoldia. In addition, I would suggest that the huge size images of the badges and sashes which she has earned can be got rid off from the page as they make the article messy. The table listing the awards can also be got rid off. • Oritsu.me • Let's talk here • Contribs, 23 June 2021, 01:07 IST
