In recent years, many micronations have adopted laws regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. These laws vary greatly by micronation, and in many cases macronational law may interfere with it.

LGBT issues have been discussed in the MicroWiki Sector in several occassions, and many leaders of prominent micronations in this sector are open members of the LGBT+ community. The foundation of the Gay and Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands and the signing of the Denton Protocol are examples of the presence of the LGBT+ community in micronationalism.
