The Florenian General Election of 2014, was an election for Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Florenia that was originally planned to take place between December 22 and December 30, 2014, but never occurred. As of December 21, no candidate had announced his or her intention to run. However, on 22 December, incumbent The Prince Nathan was confirmed by the Monarch, Eran I, to stand for reelection, and was doing so as candidate for the Democratic Liberal Party. As the only candidate, he was to obtain a majority of the vote over a ballot option marked "against." If he had failed to do so, further elections would take place.
The elections never occurred in a situation similar to the 2012 elections. The government issued a statement in late March, indicating that election reform was soon to come.
Although all Florenian citizens, regardless of their residency, have the right to vote, only residents of the Kingdom can stand for election. By Florenian law, Members of Parliament have the responsibility to organize polling stations for their constituents, and the Foreign Ministry is responsible for receiving and tallying votes from non-residential citizens. Ballots will most likely be cast online via the government's official website.
