Constitution of the Holy Kingdom of Deseret
The Constitution of the Holy Kingdom of Deseret is the set of laws and principles under which the Holy Kingdom of Deseret is governed. Like the constitution of the United Kingdom, Deseret has no one constitutional document, but a multi-faceted collection of written and unwritten laws, court judgments, treaties, and royal prerogatives.
The Constitution is considered to affirm the nation's commitment to theocratic democracy and limited monarchy. It establishes the complex political interplay through which the national legislature, President, and sovereign interact and maintain balance with one another, and solidifies the Restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as the state faith while maintaining freedom of religion.
At present, the Constitution requires two years of service in the Deseret Legion from male citizens and one year from female citizens.
