The Bayou Sector, also known as Louisiana Sector, is an Geographical sector which refers to micronations which have land in Louisiana. Currently the defined nations are Pontunia, Ela'r'oech, and Austral-Garuda. The nations are not necessarily in contact with each other, but Andrew I and Max Baez have talked before.

The vast majority of the sector speaks English, followed by Pontunian. Pontunia is an Arbyist Dependency of Austenasia, while the rest are Secular States.

The sector was informally established by Andrew I on 20 January 2021.

Etymology

The Bayou Sector is Named after the term w:Bayou, a marshy lake or wetland or a creek whose current reverses daily due to tides, and which contains brackish water highly conducive to fish life and plankton. Bayous are commonly found in the Gulf Coast region of the southern United States, notably the Mississippi River Delta, with the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas being famous for them.
