since 16 November 2020
Ministry of Justice
AppointerThe Monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister

The Attorney General of Austenasia is the member of Cabinet who serves as the chief lawyer of the Government and leader of the Ministry of Justice of the Empire of Austenasia. The Attorney General is therefore responsible for providing the members and bodies of the Government with legal advice, serving as or appointing the prosecutor for trials of the Imperial Court, and overseeing the administration of the Austenasian Police. They have the authority to appoint magistrates to resolve civil disputes and to appoint the Chief Inspector of the Austenasian Police with the consent of the Prime Minister.

Although the office was established on 4 April 2019, it was not until 7 April - three days later - that the first Attorney General, Lord Adam, Duke of Washington, was appointed. He resigned on 11 February 2020, and was replaced with the incumbent, Emmanuel I & II (who also serves as Basileus of Rhomania), two days later.
