An admiral of the fleet is the most senior commissioned officer of the Baustralian Armed Forces, more specifically, His Royal Navy. It outranks an admiral of the navy, a general of the army and marines, and an air chief marshal of the air force. Its equivalent is a field marshal of the marines and army, and a marshal of His Royal Air Force.
The duties of an admiral of the fleet are to command a navy of two fleets, or a joint task force, either as commander or as commander in chief.
Insignia
Insignia of an admiral of the fleet on the headdress is a two rows of gold oak leaves on the peak. The cap badge is a generic Baustralian Armed Forces cap badge. Three rows of buttons are worn on the tunic, as well as a thick gold band, and four regular gold bands around the cuff, with the top-most having a curl facing inward.
