The May 2016 Austenasian local elections took place on 28 May 2016, and were the first local elections in the nation's history to only take place in some (and not all) of the Empire's towns, this having been provided for in the August 2015 constitutional amendments. Out of the subjects of those towns which voted, there was a total turnout of 82.35%.

The subjects of Thanasia, Palasia (and its March, Caldari), New Richmond and Harenfall voted for a Representative to speak and vote on their behalf in the House of Representatives. Every one of the ten seats saw only a single candidate stand as the only candidate, and all were elected except in Harenfall.

Voters had the option to abstain, which renders an election inconclusive should it gain more votes than the candidate. This was the case in Harenfall, where every voter abstained, but the incumbent (and candidate) Lord Sivert MacLean was retained as Acting Representative.

In Thanasia, Palasia, and New Richmond, the sole candidates Lady Strawberry Thanasi, Lord John Gordon, and Lady Admiral Brooklyn Hewitt were elected, the latter two having been the incumbents and the former taking over from her sister Countess Eritoshi.
