Imperial Edicts in the Empire of Austenasia are laws passed by the Monarch. First introduced on 10 September 2010 by Act 127 (Regnal Names and Imperial Edicts), they were redefined roughly a year later with the enactment of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011.

Imperial Edicts are executive orders issued by the Monarch as a means of exercising their powers; however, they cannot overturn or contravene Acts of Parliament, Imperial Decrees, or the Constitution itself. In accordance with Article IV, Section D, Paragraph B of the 2011 Constitution, Imperal Edicts "can grant an office, right, monopoly, title, or status to a person or to some entity such as a corporation, create government offices and ministries, and shall be generally used by the Monarch for executive governance. However, Imperial Edicts relating to civil and/or criminal law, and/or the actual governance of the Empire shall only apply to those areas of the Empire which are Crown Property."

Imperial Edicts passed during the reign of Esmond III

Upon the initial creation of Imperial Edicts by Act 127 in September 2010, they functioned similarly to the way in which Imperial Decrees currently do, albeit only applying to Crown property and not requiring approval by the House of Representatives. Emperor Esmond III used Imperial Edicts to grant stewardship or titular ownership of small areas of Crown property as rewards to courtiers and military officers. These Edicts were not written down, and their contents are now lost. They were automatically repealed upon the enactment of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011, which also changed the definition of Imperial Edicts to their current function.
