Hannah is the sovereign Princess of Wildflower Meadows, an Augusta of Austenasia, and has since 5 November 2022 served as the Empress consort of Jonathan I.

Biography

Princess Hannah was born in Croydon in February 1996. In 2006, she was appointed May Queen for Beddington - having been part of that "realm" (branch) of the organisation since 2000 - and in 2011 was given the title "Princess of Wildflower Meadows" while taking part in the London May Queen festival.

On 11 November 2011, Hannah met the then Crown Prince Jonathan at a charity shop while lost in Carshalton. The two did not maintain contact, but met again on 10 September 2015. After several weeks of close friendship they announced the start of a romantic relationship on 5 November, and Hannah was officially declared Princess Consort on 21 November.

From 2015 until 2019, Hannah underwent a four-year combined honours course in English Literature and Spanish at the University of Chester; as part of this undergraduate degree, for her third year she worked at a school in Soria, Spain, where she lived along with Emperor Jonathan at the Austenasian Consulate-General in Castile and León. Upon returning from Spain, Hannah completed a Master's degree in Nineteenth Century Literature and Culture, also at Chester.

On 12 May 2016, while the former was visiting her in Chester, Emperor Jonathan and Hannah founded the Principality of Wildflower Meadows, Hannah reassuming the title she had been given in the London May Queen festival as her sovereign style. The Principality claims the walled city of Chester, the nearby Grosvenor Park, an area of meadow to the south, another claim in Cheshire known as Maybridge, and the provinces of Wandleside and Forestedge near to Princess Hannah's former UK home, over all of which the Princess reigns as an absolute monarch under Austenasian protection.

The Princess was futhermore appointed one of the two Austenasian Consuls for both 2020 and 2021. In her capacity as such, she passed sentence at the conclusion of Austenasia's third criminal trial, The Imperial Majesty vs. Lady Sophia Albina, Countess of Nova Albion, on 27 June 2021.

While on a holiday in Seville, Princess Hannah and Emperor Jonathan announced on 5 September 2016 that they had become engaged to be married, a day that became annually commemorated in Austenasia as Imperial Engagement Day. Their engagement lasted several years due to the couple wishing to complete their university degrees and save up enough money for the wedding and a new home, but they were finally wed in November 2022. Their marriage was legally concluded on 5 November 2022 in the Church of England, followed by a second wedding service in the Orthodox Church on 7 November.

Titles, styles, honours and arms

Titles and styles

Although Hannah was chosen as the May Queen of Beddington in May 2006, this was a title tied to a cultural event and not recognized by any government. Upon being appointed Princess Consort in November 2015, her style became Highness; in May 2016, upon the creation of Wildflower Meadows, it was decided that the style of the Wildflowerian Monarch would be Serene Highness, which the Princess used in preference to that of Highness within the Principality to indicate a distinct Wildflowerian identity despite it being a subordinate style in terms of rank.

In November 2016, Princess Hannah was appointed Augusta, and since then has used "Imperial and Serene Highness" as her style. Hannah continued to be known as Princess Consort Hannah in Austenasia until 6 January 2018, when Jonathan I decreed that her status as a sovereign monarch in her own right had precedence over that of Princess Consort, and that she would until their marriage therefore be known simply as Princess Hannah within the Empire, while nevertheless continuing to hold the official position of Princess Consort.

In March 2020, Princess Hannah's birthday was declared to be Princess Consort Day, and was declared a national holiday by the Princess Consort Day Act 2020. This law was introduced to Parliament by Lord John Gordon after it was noted that there was no formal acknowledgement of the Princess Consort's birthday celebrations in the monthly report of the Monarch's actions as head of state.
