Summary

File information
Description English:
  • Blazon: Purpure, a chevron in chief argent, a chevron reversed in base argent; a honeycomb embattled pointed argent, therein a honeycomb purpure.
  • About:
Originally created in 2016 (though not published until 2017), this flag represents Theodia better than any previous flag. It maintains the classic purple and white colour scheme and hexagonal gear, but this flag's purple is special -- it is not only midway between white and black, but it is midway between red and blue. And that's an important symbolization -- Theodia has for years lied in the radical center, and magenta, the only conventional illusory colour, does not exist on its own; but, rather, only exists when red and blue come together in equal quantities. It's about different things coming together to make something new.
The hexagonal shapes represent optimality, as hexagons are the best polygonal approximation of a circle, which is arguably the most perfect 2D shape. The gear represents progress and industriousness. The white represents integrity.
All-together, the colours and shapes on this new flag not only hearken unto Theodia's past, but represent every aspect in both of its traditional mottos: "Rethink Everything", and "Innovation, Industriousness, Integrity".
Additionally, the sizes and positions of the elements on this flag have never been so exact and even.
The exact magenta used in 2017 was #9A4D9A, and was meant to be midway between white & black and magenta & grey. This was changed to #A5A on 22 April 2022, in order to achieve higher regularity in HSL, HSV, and L*a*b*.
